Veteran’s Office To Stay In Kearney County
The Kearney County Supervisors met on September 4 for their first of two regularly scheduled meetings at the Kearney County courthouse.
The Veterans Service Office continued to be a topic of discussion in the county and again took center stage at this meeting.
Chairman Dick Schwenka brought everyone up to speed on what has transpired. “Jim Swanson came to us a month ago roughly and showed some concerns and passed along there is a chance with Phelps County to consolidate offices. The Courier did a nice article on that story and after that we (the board) received phone calls on the issue and it would be best served to keep the Veteran’s Service Office in Kearney County. We have not made a decision yet but we have heard response from that article, no decision has been made pro or con.”
