The Wilcox-Hildreth Falcon boys got their first taste of victory on Thursday when they entertained the Red Cloud Warriors. The Falcons won convincingly 62-31 to up their pre-holiday record to 1-5.
The first quarter was fairly tight as W-H held a 14-11 lead. During the second period, however, the Falcons surged to a big lead with a commanding 18-4 advantage. W-H went into the halftime break leading 32-15.
The Falcons continued their domination in the second half. W-H outscored the Warriors 18-9 in the third to go into the final quarter leading 50-24. A fourth quarter 12-7 edge by the Falcons doubled the final margin to 62-31.
Clay Blank and Clint Gardels led the offensive charge for W-H scoring 24 and 19 respectively. Blank’s total was aided by nailing six three-pointers. Gardels produced yet another double-double adding 11 rebounds to his stats.
