Walking Sixty Miles To Help Find The Cure

One is a cancer survivor, one is the daughter of a cancer survivor, they share the same last name and they have a mutual goal,  to raise awareness and to find a cure for the number one cause of cancer death in women, breast cancer.
Both Jan Dahlgren of Minden and Jill Dahlgren of Axtell will lace up their sneakers and walk sixty miles in three days in November, Jan in Arizona and Jill in Texas, in the Susan G. Komen 3-Day event.
The Susan G. Komen for the Cure is a nationwide fund raising event were thousands of women and men come together and walk 60 miles over the course of three days. The net proceeds from the walk are invested in breast cancer research and community programs.  Komen for the Cure is the world’s largest grassroots network of breast cancer survivors and activists fighting to save lives, empower people, ensure quality care, and to energize scientific research to find a cure for breast cancer.
