Whippet Boys Fall Short Against STC

The Minden Whippet boys basketball team was coming off a close win on Jan. 8 and faced the always dangerous Hastings St. Cecilia Bluehawks on Thursday in C.L. Jones Gymnasium to close out their week of competition.

The Whippets would build an early first period lead but the Bluehawks were able to rally in the second half and went on for the 52-49 win.

Minden falls to 6 wins and 7 losses on the season as they will face St. Paul and Holdrege this week.

Minden was led in scoring by senior Isaac Carlson with a team-high 15 points and six rebounds followed by Jonas Lovin with 12 points on four three-pointers. Lovin also grabbed four rebounds and added three assists. RJ Watson led the team with 14 rebounds and added nine points.
