Whippet Boys Hold Off Eagles

The Minden Whippets boys basketball team got the 2016-17 season off on the right foot Thursday night traveling to Southern Valley to take on the Eagles.
Minden raced to a 21-6 and held on for a two point win, 41-39, to improve to 1-0 as first year Whippets Head Coach Jordan Reinertson collected his first win in his high school coaching career.
The Dawgs placed seven players in the scoring column in a balanced attack. Minden was led by senior Jake Kuehn with a team high 10 points followed by sophomore Josh Denney with nine points followed by Justin Villars with eight and Elijah Lovin six.
