The Minden Whippet wrestling team had a busy week wrestling in two meets on Jan. 17 and Friday.
Minden hosted a home triangular with the Lexington Minutemen and Holdrege Dusters in C.L. Jones Gymnasium on Jan. 17.
The Dawgs only had three wrestlers participating.
Against Holdrege, Austin Olson received a win as the Dusters did not have a 106 pound opponent.
Jon Barton won by fall in the first period in 1:01 at 160 pounds over Chase Christensen. Jack Raffety also picked up a win at 170 pounds with a pin win over his opponent, Matt Becker.
In the match with Lexington, Olson lost by fall in 3:15 to Andres Chiquil.
Barton also lost his 160 pound match, losing by a 14-10 decision to Mario Barraza.
Raffety picked up the lone victory of this dual, earning a 17-10 decision over Jon Avilez.
On Friday, the Whippet grapplers headed to Hebron to participate in the 15-team Thayer Central Invite.
Raffety came out as the champion of the 170 pound class while Olson was fourth at 106 and Barton was fourth at 160.
Raffety opened with a pin win over Logan Schweneweisss FRE in 2:22 before pinning Hunter Richardson of SUP in the semifinals to reach the finals. In the final, Raffety pinned Matt Wright of FC in 4:09 to win the division.
