Whippet Power
The Whippets finally got to play on the home turf on September 14 but the wait was worth the outcome as the locals defeated Sandy Creek 31-7. The win put the Whippets record at 2-1.
The Dawgs had a well-balanced offensive attack against the Cougars amassing 156 rushing yards and 202 through the air for a total of 358. The defense held SC to 192 total yards, 95 via the rush and 97 by passing.
Quin Rutt found paydirt three times on the night. His first TD came on a two yard blast at 5:11 in the opening quarter. Alexis Ciprian’s PAT staked Minden to a 7-0 lead and there was no further scoring in the initial period.
