Whippet Runners Compete At Broken Bow

The Broken Bow cross country invitational was the destination of the Whippet runners on Saturday, September 8. The boys finished third in the 12-team field while the girls were seventh out of 11 teams.
The top six boys teams made for a very competitive morning. Minden trailed Ogallala and Ainsworth and finished just ahead of Nebraska Christian, Ord and Cozad. The Whippets one-two punch of Chris Shelton and Trevor Jacobsen again medaled with top ten placings – Chris in seventh at 16:45 and Trevor in eighth at 17:02. Nic Brandt came in 23rd at 18:31, Nic Werner 30th at 18:47, Zack Rehtus 47th at 19:31 and Leobardo Iniguez 48th also at 19:31 completed Minden’s varsity runners. Additionally, Francisco Juaregui was 53rd at 19:50, Michael Becker 97th at 22:20, Hunter Frecks 119th at 24;53, AJ Horner 123rd at 25:05 and Riley Ratka 127th at 25:55.
