Whippets Are Third At Invite

The Minden Country Club hosted the 2010 Minden Invitational on Friday. The weather was perfect with temperatures in the mid 80s with no wind. Grand Island Central Catholic continued the season dominance by winning the Minden Invite with a team score of 361. Adams Central was second with a 409 followed by Minden with a 440.
Individually, the meet was won by Mattie Yurk of GICC on the first hole of a playoff for the individual title. Minden’s Morgan Kristensen placed fourth for the Lady Whippets carding an 89 for the 18-hole event. Kristensen had rounds of 42 and 47.
Elizabeth Grams shot a 111 (55 and 56) which was good enough for the 14th place medal. Other Minden scores included sophomore Allie Geist with a 114 (61 and 53) and Kelsey Emal with a 130 including rounds of 58 and 72.
