Whippets Defeat Lexington, 49-35

The Minden Whippet boys basketball team kept its undefeated record intact on Dec. 7 when the Class B Lexington Minutemen came calling to C.L. Jones Gymnasium.
The Whippets used a strong second and third quarter scoring burst to hold off Lexington for the 14 point victory, 49-35.
Minden improves its season record to 3-0.
Derek Kissinger led three Whippets in double figures with a game-high 19 points including three three-pointers.
Carson Blum and Ben Petersen each added 11 points for MInden.
The first period was hard fought as Lexington outscored Minden 12-11 to take a lead into the second. Minden was led in the quarter by Blum with four points and Kissinger a three-pointer.
In the second, Minden turned the tables on Lexington and defensively limited them to only four points on two field goals.
