Whippets Fall To Holdrege

Holdrege came to Kuper Field on September 25 undefeated and state-rated and they left that way winning over the Whippets 49-7. Minden drops to 0-5 and visits Grand Island Central Catholic on October 2.
The Dusters struck for points quickly in the contest. After the Whippets went three-and-out and were forced to punt, Holdrege scored on their first scrimmage play when speedy Cooper Rogers ran in from 37 yards out, the first of his four rushing TDs. Blake Schroeder booted the conversion (he was 7 for 7 on the night) and the Dusters went ahead 7-0 at 9:36.
Minden picked up two first downs on their next possession but fumbled the ball back to Holdrege. The Dusters used an 11-play drive to score again at 2:08 when Rogers bolted in from the three. Schroeder’s kick made it 14-0 and that was all of the first period scoring.
