Whippets Fall To Indians, 18-0

Minden closed out a winning season at 5-4 being blanked by Broken Bow 18-0 at Kuper Field on October 22. This is the Whippets’ first .500-plus record since the fall of 2011 when the team went 11-1 in advancing to the state semis. 

Ten seniors associated with the football program were recognized prior to the game. They were Jamey Birkestrand, Jasper Birkestrand, Nick Bridges, Lucas Epperson, Gage Fries, Brooks Glanzer, Nolan Reed, Evan Smith, David Smolik and Colby Teel. 

The Indians opened the game with a 13-playscoring drive, cashing in on a 12-yard pass at 5:45. Their conversion failed so they led 6-0. The first quarter ended with no more scoring.
