Whippets Fifth, Ninth At Waverly Invite

The Minden Whippets boys and girls cross country teams headed east on Friday to compete in the Waverly Invitational held at the difficult Pioneer Park course in Lincoln.
The Minden boys team had a good day. The Whippets finished fifth in the 12-team boys field, made up of mainly Class B and Class A schools.
Minden finished with a team score of 98. Mount Michael won the meet with a score of 23 followed by Lincoln Pius X with 49 and Plattsmouth with 69.
Chris Shelton and Trevor Jacobsen ran a complete race for the Whippet boys team. Shelton placed fifth overall on the tough course in a time of 17:00.1 followed by Jacobsen in tenth position crossing the finish line in a time of 17:32.7.
