Whippets Get First Win, Topping Cats

The Minden Whippet softball team picked up their first win of the 2012 season in the Holdrege tournament held on Aug. 25.
The Whippets went 1-2 downing St. Paul but falling to Cozad and Blue Hill to fall to 1-4 on the season.
The Whippets opened the tourney by taking on the Cozad Haymakers. Cozad was able to get an 8-0 victory over Minden in five innings.
Callie Pinkham took the loss for the Whippets allowing seven hits and striking out two hitters.
