Whippets Host Awarii Dunes Classic

The Minden Whippets and Axtell Wildcats golf teams hosted the Awarii Dunes Classic on Friday.
Minden finished fifth in the team standings with a score of 340 while Axtell was eighth in a team finish of 419.
Kearney Catholic won the classic with a score of 317 with Holdrege in second with a 330 followed by Broken Bow with 330.
Minden was led by senior Derek Kissinger with a fifth place score of 79. Kissinger shot rounds of 37 and 42 to earn medalist honors.
Carson Blum was next for the Dawgs four strokes back with an 83. Blum carded scores of 42 on the front and 41 on the back.
Trevor Kuehn was third for the Whippets with a score of 87. Kuehn shot rounds of 44 and 43.
Ryan Hauserman was fourth for Minden with a score of 91 which included firing rounds of 47 and 44.
