Whippets Lose Close Contest To Eagles

The Minden Whippet softball team played its final home contest of the 2014 season on Sept. 29 hosting Southern Valley and Holdrege in a triangular at Augie Nelson Park.
The Whippets opened play against Southern Valley and the Eagles got off to a quick start scoring three in the top of the first inning. Minden rallied with a big bottom of the inning with nine runs to hold a 9-3 advantage. Southern Valley came right back with five runs in the second to make it 9-8 in favor of the Dawgs.
