Whippets Lose In Overtime

Close (again), but the result was unfortunately the same. Minden went toe-to-toe with St. Paul hungry for that elusive first win but the Wildcats used a touchdown in overtime to get by the Whippets 26-20 on October 9 in St. Paul. Minden drops to 0-7 and hosts Kearney Catholic on October 16.
The Whippets led by two after one quarter. A Jonathan Miller pass completion to Josiah Lovin turned into a 76-yard scoring play. Alexis Ciprian added the PAT for a 7-0 lead. St. Paul came right back and scored on a four-yard run. They added a two-point conversion to go ahead 8-7.
Minden got the lead again on a 26-yard field goal from Ciprian making the score 10-8. Neither team got points in the second period so the first quarter score remained the halftime score.
