Whippets Play In Class C-1 Districts

The Minden Whippet varsity golf team competed on May 13 in the Class C1-3 district meet held at Southern Hills Golf Course just outside Hastings.
The Whippets did not have the outcome they expected in the district meet, finishing a disappointing seventh place with a score of 389. Hasting St. Cecilia was the district champion with a 322 followed by Sutton at 360 and Elmwood-Murdock 362 who all qualified for state meet May 21-22 in Lincoln.
Minden was led by the play of Ryan Hauserman. Hauserman was the closest individual qualifier finishing in 14th position shooting an 18-hole total of 91. Hauserman carded rounds of 45 and 46 and came up five shot short of the state meet.
