Whippets Volleyball Tops Adams Central

The Minden Whippets volleyball team hosted the Adams Central Patriots on October 18 at C.L. Jones Gymnasium.
The game had special significance as the Minden volleyball team held its annual “Crush It For Cancer” fund raiser. All proceeds from the event will go to three worthy organizations: Health Connect at Home – Good Samaritan Hospice, Kearney County Health Services and Kearney County Relay for Life.
Minden was able to pick up the three set victory over Adams Central by scores of 25-14, 25-14 and 25-21. The Lady Whippets improve their record to 24-3 heading into the season finale on Oct. 27 when they will travel to Seward to take on the Class B Bluejays.
The Bauer sisters, Hallie and Carlie, combined for 27 kills to lead the Whippets to the victory. Carlie finished with a team-high 14 kills while Hallie had 13 kills. Alaina Boudreau recorded six kills followed by Bailey Petersen with three, Sydney Stadler two and Ali Rowse with one.
Rowse distributed 34 assists to the Minden hitters against the Patriots while Boudreau added three.
Minden had ten ace serves against the Patriots led by Carlie Bauer with a team-high three aces followed by Sarah Ryan, Chelsey Miller and Hallie Bauer with two each while Rowse had one.

Rowse finished the match with a team-leading 14 digs followed by Hallie Bauer with nine, Miller seven, Boudreau five, Stadler three and Petersen and Carlie Bauer with two each.
