Whippets, Wildcats Are In State Football Playoffs

The Minden Whippets and Axtell Wildcat football teams are headed to the 2010 Nebraska State Football Playoffs.
The Whippets get underway in the Class C-1 playoffs on Thursday, Oct. 28 hosting the St. Paul Wildcats.
Minden enters the playoffs as the third-seeded team in C-1 with a record of 6-2 and will take on a 14th seed St. Paul team with a record of 4-4 at Kuper Field with kick off set for 7 p.m.
The Minden/St. Paul winner will advance to the second round on Nov. 3 and take on the winner between sixth-seeded Broken Bow Indians and the 11th seeded Boone Central Cardinals.
The Wildcats come into the Class D-1 state playoffs on Thursday entering as the seventh-seeded team on their side of the bracket with a record of 5 wins and 3 losses. Axtell will get to host the tenth-seeded Garden County Eagles with a 5-3 record.
Axtell and Garden County will tee the ball up at 5 p.m. with the winner advancing to the second round taking on the winner between second-seeded Overton (8-0) and the 15th seeded North Central Knights with a record of 4-4.
