Whippets Win First Over Hershey

Minden emphatically got into the win column with a 43-0 defeat of Hershey on September 18 at Kuper Field. The Whippets moved to 1-2 ahead of Friday’s game at home vs. Kearney Catholic.

A short opening kickoff by Hershey gave Minden good field position at the Whippets’ 48. Needing just four plays to score, Minden went up 8-0 at 10:37 on Gage Fries’ 33-yard run and a two-point conversion run by Braiden Braithwait.

The next time the Whippets had the ball they embarked on a 13-play, 88-yard drive, culminated by Braden Bates finding Colby Teel for a 24-yard passing TD at 3:28. Braithwait again ran in the two-point conversion giving Minden a 16-0 lead.
