The Minden Public Schools Board of Education has announced that Jim Widdifield will be the new Minden superintendent starting July 1, 2018.
Over 20 candidates applied for the position. After narrowing the field, the board interviewed the top four candidates February 19 and 20. The final decision was made on the evening of February 20 and Widdifield was called to be informed he was accepted for the position.
“They were high quality interviews which made it extremely hard to make the decision. In the end we felt Jim Widdifield was the best person for the schools, the district, and the community as a whole,” MPS board president Craig Grams said.
