Wilcox-Hildreth had defeated Hi-Line by five in the opening game of the season but the tenth-seeded Bulls got the better of the seventh-seeded Falcons this time with a 63-54 win at Wilcox on January 30 in the opening round of the FKC Tournament. The Falcons fell to 6-12 and into the consolation bracket.
Both teams scored well in the opening quarter with W-H owning an 18-17 lead. Hi-Line, however, outpaced the Falcons 12-8 in the second giving the Bulls a 29-26 lead at halftime.
Each squad scored ten in the third, so the foes went to the final period with Hi-Line still ahead by three, 39-36. Then in a high-scoring fourth, the Bulls 24-18 advantage propelled them to the win.
