Wilcox-Hildreth’s Johnson Qualifies For State

The Wilcox-Hildreth Falcons wrestling team were able to qualify one wrestler from the difficult Class D-3 district held in Amherst on Friday and Saturday.
Freshman Nick Johnson was able to punch his ticket to the 2011 Nebraska State Wrestling Championships starting Thursday, Feb. 17 in Omaha at the Qwest Center.
Johnson competed in the 112 pound class at district and was able to reach the consolation finals assuring the freshman of a spot in the state field.
Johnson was pinned by Wyatt Egglestron of South Loup in a time of 3:34 earn Johnson the fourth place medal.
The Falcons finished the district with a team total of 14 points. Amherst won the district with 236.5 points followed by SEM with 148 and Cambridge with 98.
