Wildcat Boys Win Ravenna Invite

The Axtell Wildcats track team competed on Thursday in the Ravenna Invitational.
The Wildcat boys edged Wood River for the boys team title. Axtell scored 127 points followed by Wood River with 115 followed by Ravenna 95, Loup City 68, Centura 57, Amherst 41 and Litchfield 19.
Axtell was led by Brandon Benson. Benson won the 100-meters in a time of 11.42 took gold in the pole vault, clearing 12’0″ and was second in the 400-meters in 53.52.
Axtell won the 4×800 relay with members Mark Duncan, Spencer Fecht, Shafer Fox and Heath Anderbery winning the event in a time of 8:55.85. Fecht also captured gold in the discus with a throw of 132’2″.
