Wilcox-Hildreth hosted a 15-team Falcon Invite track and field meet on March 25 in quite cool conditions. The girls’ team competition was won by Giltner with 119 points, followed by Pleasanton with 74 and Bertrand with 68. Axtell was fifth with 56 and Wilcox-Hildreth came in 11th with 26. Axtell was led by Regan Miller’s gold in the 100 meters, seconds by Liz Marcellus in the 3200 and the 4 X 100 relay and thirds by Erica Bertrand in the 200 and the 4 X 400 relay. Abby Quadhamer’s fourth place finish in the 400 meters was tops for Wilcox-Hildreth.
On the boys’ side, Axtell, with 98, edged Giltner, with 93, for the team crown. Bertrand was third with 81. Wilcox-Hildreth was ninth scoring 25 points. Braiden Gomez was a double winner in his specialties, the sprints (100, 200). Seconds were earned by Creighton Kring (long jump), Lane Bertrand (300 hurdles), Lincoln Trent (3200) and the 4 X 800 relay. Bertrand added a third in the 110 hurdles. Wilcox-Hildreth had a gold winner in Caleb Springer in the 3200. Sidney Gruwell garnered a third in the triple jump for the Falcons.
