The Axtell Wildcats football team saw its record fall to 0-3 on Friday night following its road loss at Pleasanton as the two old Fort Kearny Conference rivals met for the first time in a while on the gridiron.
Pleasanton outscored the Wildcats 46-14 in the first half and went on for the 78-28 victory to improve to 2-1.
Pleasanton took the early 8-0 lead with a 40 yard touchdown run. Axtell quickly answered with Hunter Stratman breaking free for a long 48 yard touchdown. Jacob Marsh found Tyler Danburg for the two point conversions to tie the game at 8-8.
