Woollen And Myers Qualify For State Meet

The Axtell Wildcats and Wilcox-Hildreth Falcons varsity golf teams competed on May 13 in the Class D-2 district golf meet held at Indianhead Golf Course in Grand Island.
The Falcons and Cats were both able to qualify a golfer to the Class D State Golf Championship. Trevor Myers and Sam Woollen will be competing on Tuesday and Wednesday, May 21 and 22 in Kearney playing at Meadowlark Hills Golf Course. Myers will be teeing off on May 21 at 10:40 a.m. off hole #1.
Woollen will be taking to the course at 11 a.m. for his first hole and will tee off from hole #1.
Senior Myers of Axtell was able to qualify for the state meet after his fifth place medalist performance from the district.
Myers shot an 18-hole total of 85 which included rounds of 42 and 43.
