Youth Were “Soaring” At Rowe
Laughing and shouts of excitement filled the sultry night air along the Platte River at the Iain Nicolson Audubon Center at Rowe Sanctuary last Wednesday night. Second through fifth grade students were enjoying evening activities as part of the SOAR (Summer Orientation About Rivers) program.
This year 152 campers took part in the two week-long camps. The students enjoyed activities including dip-netting in wetlands for fish, frogs and aquatic insects, sweeping netting in the prairie for insects, and a sandbar obstacle course.
