Zoo Crew Helping Arnold Get A Head Start On Career

Minden High School sophomore Bailey Arnold is getting a head start on her career with volunteer opportunities at the Lincoln Children’s Zoo and the Henry Doorly Zoo in Omaha. Arnold dedicates hundreds of hours to volunteer work in the zoos as a member of the Zoo Crew.

“I started at the Lincoln zoo right after I completed 7th grade and I have been there every year since. I also applied to volunteer at the Omaha zoo last winter and my resume was accepted. After my interview with zoo members, I was selected and I have worked there since January,” Bailey said. “I plan on continuing to volunteer my time at both zoos throughout high school.”

She learned of the volunteer opportunity during a family visit to the zoo. They noticed a high school student holding sugar gliders in a pouch around his neck. The teen shared a lot of information about the creatures.
